The feeling of opening a well designed package exemplifies good
design. All the little nuances contribute to an individual experience. When
you first open a Macbook Pro or iPhone, you get a feeling who apple is
as a company and the standard they hold themselves to. This reaction
to a product’s package before the consumer even reaches the actual
‘product’ itself is an accomplishment.
The same is true in digital packaging. Just as your 'handwriting
neatness' was graded in elementary school, your presentation is
evaluated and deemed a quality worth by your buyer in a fraction of a
second. Before they even fully understand what your product is, your
target customer needs to be thinking "that's cool, I might like that..."
